Job Summary:
Quail Creek golf and country club is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Irrigation Technician to join our grounds maintenance team. The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of the golf course’s irrigation system, ensuring optimal turf health and water efficiency across all playing surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain, and repair all components of the golf course irrigation system including pumps, valves, sprinklers, and controllers
- Perform regular inspections and troubleshoot irrigation issues such as dry spots, leaks, and electrical faults
- Adjust irrigation schedules and run times to meet turf and weather conditions
- Maintain detailed records of irrigation maintenance, repairs, and system changes
- Assist with hand-watering as necessary to support irrigation coverage
- Collaborate with the superintendent and other team members to support overall course conditions
- Operate and maintain irrigation-related equipment and tools safely
- Support other golf course maintenance tasks as needed, including mowing, landscaping, and course setup
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with golf course irrigation systems (Toro, Rain Bird, or similar) preferred
- Basic understanding of turfgrass water needs and irrigation principles
- Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid driver’s license required
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in outdoor conditions, and perform manual labor
