Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the nine-hole golf course to ensure optimal playability and aesthetics. Supports the General Manager/Director of Golf in executing agronomic plans, maintaining turf health, managing seasonal maintenance schedules, and ensuring the proper operation of irrigation systems and equipment. Supervises seasonal crew members and ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform turf maintenance activities including mowing, aeration, fertilizing, and pesticide applications in alignment with course standards.
Oversee daily golf course setup including hole locations, tee markers, and general playability conditions.
Maintain and repair irrigation systems, including troubleshooting and scheduling.
Supervise seasonal and part-time grounds crew members; assign tasks and inspect completed work for quality and efficiency.
Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and chemicals; maintain compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
Inspect the course regularly and provide input to the General Manager/Director of Golf on conditions, staffing, and equipment needs.
Monitor and maintain equipment in good working order, report issues or schedule maintenance.
Apply fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with label instructions and regulatory guidelines.
Operate and maintain light and heavy maintenance equipment as needed.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Assist with snow removal during off-season months as needed.
Support clubhouse staff with occasional grounds-related tasks.
Participate in special projects or renovations under the direction of the General Manager/Director of Golf.
Computer Skills:
Basic proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with irrigation control systems. Experience with mobile work order systems or agronomy software is a plus.
Preferred Prerequisites:
Experience working on a public or private golf course.
Working knowledge of small engine repair and turf equipment maintenance.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful but not required.

Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or certificate in Turf Management or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in golf course maintenance or related groundskeeping work.
Knowledge of turfgrass management practices and irrigation system repair.
Supervisory experience minimum of 2 years.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri pesticide applicator’s license.
