We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Equipment Manager/Shop Manager to oversee the maintenance and management of our equipment and shop operations, ensuring the highest quality of service for our golfers and staff.

Position Overview:

As the Equipment Manager/Shop Manager, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the golf course by maintaining and managing all golf course equipment, tools, and vehicles. You will also oversee the efficient operation of the shop, including inventory management, procurement, and maintaining a well-stocked and organized environment. This position requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with experience in managing golf course equipment, facilities, and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Management:

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, carts, and other tools.

• Develop and implement regular maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of all equipment.

• Perform repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed or coordinate with outside vendors.

• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and repairs.

Shop Management:

• Manage the daily operations of the shop, including inventory control and ordering of supplies and parts.

• Supervise and/or train shop staff, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety protocols and care of the equipment.

• Coordinate with management to ensure that equipment and supplies are available and organized for daily operations.

• Handle budgeting and purchasing decisions related to equipment and shop inventory.

Team Leadership:

• Lead a team of maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

• Ensure team members are trained on proper equipment handling, safety procedures, and best practices.

• Assist with scheduling and prioritizing tasks to meet daily, weekly, and seasonal objectives.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulatory requirements for equipment operation and maintenance.

• Promote safe working conditions and practices within the shop and on the course.

• Conduct safety inspections and make recommendations for improvements when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in equipment management, shop management, or related field (Golf Course maintenance preferred).

• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with experience in servicing and repairing small engines, golf course equipment, and vehicles.

• Leadership: Previous experience leading or supervising a team is preferred.

• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.

• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with staff, vendors, and the Director of Agronomy.
