Restored by son, Rees Jones in 2020, the famed golf course architect known as the "Open Doctor," the course bears classic runway style tee boxes, a signature of his father, with undulating greens that are precisely bunkered. Touted as an "easy bogey, but a hard par" the course offers an array of course lengths and difficulties so Members of all ages and skill levels can enjoy playing. The course has aptly been described as the "crown jewel" of Fort Lauderdale. Salary depends on experience.

Job Summary:

Directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course and entire grounds of the club.  Supervises the maintenance and repair of all motorized and other mechanical equipment, and does all related work required.  Serves in the Superintendent’s capacity during his/her absence.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervises course maintenance staff; conducts performance evaluations, disciplinary procedures, makes decisions for hiring/firing/promoting/demoting/training of staff, as needed.
2. Assists in the planning and maintenance of greens, tees, fairway, and all other club property
3. Schedules work and supervises the employees and the use of all equipment.
4. Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment.
5. Performs pesticide and fertilizer applications and keep records of all applications.
6. Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and the maintenance of the irrigation and drainage systems.
7. Assists in the personnel management, employee safety, personnel discipline and may modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation.
8. Conducts daily facility security checks ensuring accurate inventory of equipment and keys.
9. Ensures that chemicals, petroleum and other controlled products are used, stored, and disposed of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Maintains required OSHA records and strives to minimize the use of chemicals and petroleum products.
10. Conducts all work in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards; guidelines, personal protection equipment etc.
11. Complies with all Club policies and procedures
