Killearn Country Club is undergoing a complete renovation. Originally built in 1967 with an 18-hole Championship Course that was built as the centerpiece of Killearn Estates, a suburban neighborhood that was the first of its kind in Tallahassee. The Club has hosted 21 PGA and 4 LPGA events along with many other professional events. In 2022 Killearn was purchased by a new owner with the vision and commitment to invest upwards of twenty million dollars to restore the Country Club. Course was closed on September 6th to begin pre-construction tasks and complete renovation begins in October.
The golf course and practice areas have been newly designed by Chris Wilczynski and MacCurrach Golf Construction will be handling the construction side of the course. Course renovations will include all new turf from tees, fairways and slopes consisting of TifTuf Bermuda. Newly built greens will be TifEagle. To properly care for and manage the property, a brand-new maintenance shop is being designed and built. A brand-new John Deere equipment package was ordered to meet the needs of the new design and all course amenities.
