The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the daily management and supervision of all tasks that occur on the golf course and club grounds. The position reports to the General Manager and works in collaboration with the Head Golf Professional and the Greens Committee Chair.
The Country Club is located in Salt Lake City, minutes from downtown and at the base of the Wasatch Mountains on the approach to Park City. The Club was established in 1899 and moved to its current site in 1920, with a “new” golf course designed by William Watson. An early 1960’s expansion of Interstate 80 necessitated a redesign of the course, undertaken by Ralph Plummer. The last full golf course renovation was completed by John Harbottle in 2007. The Club is currently in the process of developing a Golf Course Master Plan with a 2027-2028 implementation timeline, which will involve the renovation of all course features, replacement of the irrigation system and the construction of a new golf course maintenance facility.
The Country Club has hosted the Utah State Amateur 42 times, the Utah Women’s State Amateur 26 times and the Utah Open championship 21 times. The Club has been awarded the 2034 U.S. Women’s Amateur, the same year the Winter Olympics make their return to Utah. The Club is also home to the University of Utah Men’s Golf Team.
