The Golf Course Superintendent manages the day-to-day operations of the golf course, including maintenance, budgeting, and personnel. They also ensure the course is safe for players and meets the needs of members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of the course, including turfgrass, irrigation, and landscaping
Equipment: Maintain and repair of equipment, materials and vehicles.
Budgeting: Achieve department goals and capital improvements through development and management of an effective budget.
Personnel: Manage the current experienced staff of full-time and seasonal employees, including scheduling and training.
Safety: Monitor weather and climatic conditions to ensure the safety of the players and course.
Reporting: Report to the Chairman of Golf and Greens and the Country Club Board.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations, including pesticide and fertilizer use.
Customer service: Maintain a professional image with members, employees, and the community.
Harrison Country Club was established in 1927. It is an 18 hole, par 70 course, with a length of 4,943 – 6,129 yards. The course is bent grass greens and zoysia/bermuda fairways. Practice facilities include driving range, chipping green, and putting green.
