Typical Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This position does not function with the expectation of a “set” schedule or hours of operation. Due to the nature of this position, the schedule of working hours is flexible dependent upon scheduled events and staffing requirements at each golf facility. The Golf Operations Manager will utilize their discretion in determining an appropriate schedule.
Typical Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:
- Plan, assign, and supervise a group of subordinates engaged in the business operation and management of each golf course.
- This group of employees include the Golf Course Concession Manager, pro shop staff, and golf course rangers.
- Coordinate with the Hamilton Parks Conservancy Director to plan and prepare an appropriate operating budget for items related to golf course operations, improvements, etc.
- Develop and administer policies and procedures in coordination with the HPC Director relating to greens fees, tee times, tournaments, outings, and general course play.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules; study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
- Supervise the collection, accounting, and deposits of golf course revenue.
- Respond to requests and complaints regarding operations and maintenance of the golf courses and conduct of patrons.
- Approves and orders supplies associated with golf activities (tees, balls, gloves, etc.)
- Perform periodic inventory of golf merchandise and audit inventory as needed.
- Coordinate with groups to organize golf outings (scheduling around open play, number of players, catering requirements, etc.).
- Develop course promotion(s) for leagues, sports viewing, golf simulator, events, etc.
