The Assistant Superintendent will play a crucial role in working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the highest standards of golf course maintenance are met. This individual will lead the maintenance staff in day-to-day operations, overseeing water management, chemical applications, fertilizer applications, and associated record keeping. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for implementing maintenance plans, scheduling tasks, and ensuring the golf course is maintained at an exceptional level. Additionally, this role will involve collaborating with the Superintendent on course improvement projects, budget management, and staff training. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep knowledge of turf management practices, and a passion for maintaining golf courses to the highest standards.
Minimum of 2 years experience in golf course maintenance or related field
Strong knowledge of water management, chemical, and fertilizer applications
Experience with record keeping and maintenance scheduling
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge of turfgrass maintenance practices and equipment operation
Westmoreland Country Club established in 1904 with current Dick Wilson layout built in 1954 has a rich history in Western Pennsylvania Golf. The course has regularly hosted US Open qualifiers and many Western Pennsylvania and Tri-State PGA events. Westmoreland is currently in the planning process for the installation of a new pump house and irrigation system. Future fairway re-contouring and bunker renovation.We have also implemented an aggressive tree removal program to restore the course to its original architecture and improve playability.
