Salina Country Club is seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and care of our 18-hole private course. As the Superintendent, you will play a key role in managing the overall condition and appearance of the golf course to ensure an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
Additionally, this individual will lead us into and through an anticipate 2025 course enhancement project, the last one being over 75 years ago. This is a full-time, year-round position located in Salina, Kansas.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with the General Manager and Director of Golf to plan and execute golf events and tournaments.
Plan and supervise all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf care, irrigation, and landscaping.
Develop and implement agronomic programs to ensure the health and playability of the course.
Manage and lead a team of groundskeepers, providing training and performance oversight.
Oversee the daily operation and upkeep of equipment, including budgeting for repairs and replacements.
Monitor weather conditions and prepare the course for seasonal changes.
Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, providing cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards.
Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Strong understanding of agronomy, turf management practices, and irrigation systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Valid pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
Knowledge of golf course equipment maintenance is a preferred
