About Us: The Club at Venetian Bay, a premier golf and country club in beautiful New Smyrna Beach, FL, is seeking an experienced and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to join our dedicated team. Our club is known for its lush, meticulously maintained grounds, providing an exceptional golfing experience for our members and guests.
Position Overview: As the Golf Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and management of the golf course grounds. You will ensure the course is in top condition and meets high standards for playability, aesthetics, and environmental sustainability. You will work closely with management, staff, and members to maintain a superior golfing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance including turf management, irrigation, landscaping, and pest control.
Develop and manage the maintenance budget and ensure cost-effectiveness in all areas.
Hire, train, and supervise staff to maintain the golf course, practice facilities, and surrounding areas.
Work closely with club management to ensure course conditions meet expectations and align with club standards.
Conduct regular inspections of the course and address any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Stay current on industry best practices, trends, and technologies to enhance course conditions and operations.
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
Develop and implement seasonal maintenance plans to optimize course playability throughout the year.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or in a similar role with a solid understanding of golf course management and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of turf management practices, irrigation systems, plant materials, and pest control.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage budgets and work within financial constraints.
A degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
Certification from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
