Brandywine Country Club is seeking a motivated and passionate individual who is looking to take the next step in their turf career.
To ensure we are moving with the times, renovations and projects are always in discussion, aiming to enhance the overall golfing experience at our club.
The Assistant Superintendent works directly with the Golf Course Superintendent and assists with the day-to-day operations of course set-up as well as ensuring projects are completed properly and on schedule.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Landscape Maintenance:
Mowing, edging, and fertilizing the golf course turf.
Pruning trees, shrubs, and other landscaping elements.
Planting and maintaining flowers, bushes, and other ornamental plants.
Irrigation System Management:
Monitor and operate the golf course's irrigation system.
Perform routine checks and repairs to ensure optimal functioning.
Hand watering of greens, tees, etc.
Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles.
Report any equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance.
Pest and Weed Control:
Implement pest and weed control measures as needed.
Course Setup:
Assist with the setup of the golf course for daily play and outings.
Collaborate with other staff to ensure all areas are prepared to the highest standards.
Changing pin locations, moving tee markers, bunker maintenance, etc.
Management Experience:
Lead small crews and projects.
Learn management and grounds operations.
Gain a better understanding of administrative operations.
Qualifications:
-Strong attention to detail
-Ability to operate course machinery and maintain equipment
-Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping is preferred
