The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and works closely under their guidance to maintain the golf course and practice facilities. This position serves as a versatile team member, involved in all aspects of course maintenance, ensuring both the aesthetic appeal and optimal playing conditions are consistently met. The Assistant Superintendent will be actively engaged in hiring, onboarding, and managing the maintenance team, as well as training new staff to uphold the standards of Summit Hills Country Club. In the absence of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent may assume responsibilities
A degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field is preferred
Knowledge and Experience with Toro two wire irrigation systems.
Previous experience as a Foreman or 2nd Assistant Superintendent, with a proven track record in a progressive and high-performing environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Toro Irrigation Software, email, and internet applications.
A valid driver’s license and Kentucky State pesticide applicator’s License, or the ability to obtain within three months of employment.
