Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Under the general supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Equipment Manager oversees and participates in all maintenance and repair of golf course equipment, construction equipment, and automobiles.
Primary responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including, diesel, electric and gasoline powered automobiles, mowers, and small engine equipment
Oversee and participate in reel grinding and sharpening on golf course mowers
Instruct and/or train golf course maintenance worker regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment. Help create S.O.P regarding equipment
Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work
Establishes and maintains safety procedures for using equipment.
Maintains safety records.
Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget purposes
Maintain a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchase repair parts and replacement supplies under supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent.
Keep a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment
Oversee the shop maintenance area in an organized clean fashion
Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, frequently makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use.
Undertakes body and fender work, fabrication, welding, troubleshooting and repairs to hydraulic and electrical systems.
Protect all company assets
Participate in snow removal program as needed
Performs other duties as assigned.

Able to repair and maintain all golf course equipment.
Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
Experience
Graduate of a vocational technical school or post-secondary training in small engine repair preferred.
