Salary is $90,000 - $105,000 depending on experience.

Position Summary: Responsible for all maintenance of the golf course, clubhouse grounds and surrounding areas to the golf course. The implementation of a strong equipment maintenance program and implement an operating budget that supports the expectations of the membership. Apply relevant agronomic practices to manage bentgrass greens in the transition zone and strong weed control management for other Bermuda grass surfaces. Implement turf, landscaping, and horticultural practices to assure quality standards are achieved or exceeded for the member and guest.
Duties and Responsibilities: o Develop the annual maintenance budget based on quality maintenance standards and operating procedures defined by the club o Maintain daily all playing surfaces to the quality maintenance standards set by the club. o Develop an agronomic plan that includes; cultural, chemical and water management practices pertinent to managing bentgrass in the transition zone. o Recruit, hire and train employees, including but not limited to personnel advancement, performance evaluations, compensation, discipline and termination and other personnel related issues. o Experience managing H2B staffing and managing shoulder months with and without outsourced staffing. Developing communication and training programs to ramp up at the start of the season. o Implement quality and cleanliness standards that include; employee hygiene and uniforms, equipment repairs and cleanliness, equipment storage areas, chemical/fertilizer storage areas and maintenance facility organization and cleanliness. o Develop and maintain drainage, irrigation and pumping systems that support the golf course. o Experience with Toro Lynx Irrigation system with programing and repairs to keep operational through the year. This requires a qualified irrigation technician to be trained to maintain both the golf course and clubhouse system. o Supervise all planting, fertilizing and care of turfgrass, plants, shrubs and trees on the golf course and clubhouse surrounds o Supervise golf course construction projects. o Supervisory and key employees maintain knowledge with industry periodicals and resources that benefit the advancement of the club. This would include attending key turf conferences. o Maintain accurate records and historical data for future reference. This may include; fertilize/chemical records, equipment maintenance/repairs, staffing schedules, safety meetings and other activities. o Perform other related duties as deemed appropriate for the property.

Qualifications: o 2- or 4-year degree/certificate in turfgrass management or related field. o 3+ years’ experience with managing maintenance crews in the turf industry setting. o Assistant superintendents are encouraged to apply but must have managed staff and taken part in all facets of course maintenance at their facility. o Experience with budget development and fiscal management of a budget. o Strong leadership skills and bringing a positive attitude to meeting the goals of management and the club.
