Montreux Golf and Country Club is a private Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course located on the Sierra Nevada mountainside between Reno and Lake Tahoe. Previously the host of the Barracuda Championship and the Reno-Tahoe Open PGA tournaments, Montreux's serene setting nestled in the Ponderosa Pines at 6000' elevation is incomparable. Turf consists of bent/poa greens, tees and fairways and blue/rye roughs. In addition to many member tournaments throughout the season, Montreux will also host the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2025. With our high maintenance standards and abundant tournament preparation, Montreux is an ideal place to grow your resume and gain valuable knowledge in the field of turfgrass management.
In addition to preparing for the NCAA West Regionals Golf tournament May 12th-14th 2025 the intern will also have the opportunity to volunteer at Edgewood located on the shore of Lake Tahoe where they host the American Century Celebrity Golf tournament televised on NBC as well as the Barracuda Championship in nearby Truckee, California.
Our location between Reno and Lake Tahoe provides all the amenities of a small city with all the outdoor activities imaginable including, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, boating, fly fishing, and more. Interns will receive $20/hr. in addition to housing, golf, uniforms, lunch, and numerous opportunities for overtime. Montreux offers both three and six month internships -which provides experience with spring and/or fall aerification practices.
Interns will be an integral part of the management of the golf course, duties will include managing the chemical and fertilizer applications to greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and lakes; course set-up; assist with renovations of tees, greens, and bunkers; aid in management of personnel and small groups.
Must be enrolled in school seeking a Turfgrass management, horticulture, agronomy or other related degree.
