The club has over 450 golf and social memberships with a very active event calendar. The club is currently undergoing a major Club House renovation that will be completed in the Spring of 2025.
The playing surfaces are creeping bentgrass with minimal Poa annua. The irrigation system features Rainbird satellites, and the irrigation hardware is Toro. Over the past several years, the irrigation system has been upgraded from single row to double row. The club is working with an Irrigation Consultant to continue to improve critical areas of the irrigation system. Other ongoing capital projects include bunker renovation, tee leveling, tree removal and green and collar expansion.
Our team is searching for a well-rounded, organized, and team-driven individual to join as our next Assistant Superintendent. The maintenance team currently has ten seasonal employees and four full-time employees. The key for this position is to be an effective communicator to the Golf Course Superintendent and the rest of the team. The Golf Course Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent want to promote a fun work environment for the team. Enjoying a cookout, providing breakfast or other ways to boost morale is always encouraged.
This is a full-time year-round position that will work alongside the current Assistant Superintendent under direction from the Golf Course Superintendent. In season, some of the job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: course set up, cutting playing surfaces, rolling playing surfaces, disease and pest identification, irrigation repair, irrigation applications, chemical and fertilizer applications, bunker maintenance, tree pruning, tree removal, stump grinding, snow removal and winter machine maintenance.
Education: Degree or Certificate in Turfgrass Science preferred but not required.
Experience: 3-5 years in golf course management preferred but not required.
Special Requirements: Individual must be able to attain CT Operators pesticide license within 90 days of employment.
Position Available: Flexible. Preferred before 3/1/2025.
