The Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the maintenance, operation, and management of the golf courses. This individual will lead a team to maintain a high standard of courses playability, presentation, and environmental stewardship. As the golf course is newly built, this role offers the exciting challenge of developing and implementing long-term strategies to ensure the course becomes renowned for its quality.
Oversee the daily maintenance and management of the golf course, including turf care, irrigation systems, landscaping, and course features.
Lead, manage, and train a team of golf course maintenance staff to ensure that the course is maintained to the highest standards.
Develop and implement agronomic plans for turf management, pest control, and water management practices to enhance the course’s playability and aesthetic quality.
Collaborate with management to create a budget for maintenance and operations, ensuring costs are controlled while maintaining quality.
Conduct regular course inspections and address any issues related to turf health, equipment, and course infrastructure.
Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers for equipment, chemicals, and other resources.
Monitor and enforce safety standards and regulations related to the course’s maintenance operations.
Ensure that the course complies with all environmental sustainability practices and relevant local regulations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Turf Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with a proven track record of managing a team.
Extensive knowledge of turf grass management, irrigation systems, equipment operation, and agronomic practices.
Prior experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or in a leadership role at a high-end golf facility is preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to excellence and environmental sustainability.
Strong agronomical knowledge of warm season turfgrasses and Paspalum previous experience is required.
Demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, staff management.
Must have the ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
