The Quechee Club is a private 36 hole championship golf and four season recreational community located in beautiful south central Vermont. The club is situated on 5,000 Acres and in addition to golf, offers a downhill ski area, cross country skiing, hiking/biking, 50 acre recreational lake, indoor/outdoor pools, 11 tennis courts, 4 platform courts, fitness center, athletic fields etc... The local area is also rich in outdoor recreational activities.
We are looking for current turfgrass students or industry apprentices who are driven & motivated to become assistant golf course superintendents and eventually superintendents. The required qualities are a strong work ethic, attention to and a keen eye for detail, eagerness to learn, and willing to do whatever it takes to provide our membership with an outstanding golf experience.
Our internships will be specifically tailored to the individuals needs based on their experience and what they desire to focus on while interning. Interns will be required to obtain a Vermont state pesticide applicators license and become an integral part of our plant protectant applications program. In addition, interns will have some crew scheduling and management opportunities along with daily course set-up & scouting, hand watering, irrigation repairs, participation in project work etc...
Interns receive a well rounded exposure to all facets of turfgrass management and successful interns are strongly considered for future employment opportunities that may arise along with being offered help in achieving their future careeer objectives.
Current enrollment in an accredited Turfgrass management program or individuals with previous golf course management experience looking to gain the knowledge and expertise to advance in the field.
