To succeed at The Broadmoor, interns must be ready to exceed the expectations of our members and guests. They should demonstrate qualities such as punctuality, a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude. Every intern is expected to perform all course responsibilities to the highest standards of the golf course industry.
Perform all mowing tasks on the golf course, this includes Greens, Tees, Approaches, Roughs, and Fairways.
Daily course preparation including pin placement and tee placement with attention to detail being the highest priority.
Assist with aeration, verti-cutting, topdressing, spiking, and other cultural practices throughout the golf course.
Assist supervisors with chemical management of herbicides, fungicides, and plant growth regulators.
Assist supervisors with fertilizer requirements to all playing surfaces of the golf course.
Assist with cleanliness and inventory of all pesticides and fertilizers on the property.
Knowledge of all fertilizer and pesticide calculations and equipment calibrations.
Operate all equipment in a safe and clean environment.
Communicate all equipment issues and problems in a timely manner to the Equipment Manager.
Ability to recognize turfgrass diseases and pests.
Assist irrigation staff with drainage, installation, and repair of irrigation system.
Ability to effectively perform all hand watering practices to ensure turf quality and optimum playing conditions.
