The primary focus of this position will be to gain the experience necessary to advance in the industry by working closely with the Superintendent and Director of Grounds. This person will help plan and assist in all chemical and fertilizer applications on the golf course and club grounds. We have four distinct seasons and acres of both warm and cool season grasses to manage thereby providing a fantastic opportunity to learn.
Ideally this position will also assist in staff leadership, project planning and implementation, all irrigation related activity, and anything that will provide learning opportunities for career building.
We have a tremendous staff of experienced veterans to help us keep things pointed in the right direction. The successful candidate will be surrounded with good people. Our membership loves their golf course and our team and we have very low turnover throughout the golf staff.
We prefer some form of college or technical school work in turf, horticulture, agronomy, or plant science. It is not required as experience will be considered also.
Verbal and written communication skills are a must. We prefer someone who plays golf and likes the game. Computer literate and comfortable with learning irrigation software, chemical and fertilizer planning software, staffing software, etc...
