Initial Priorities of Position:
Survey the current status of the equipment fleet
Schedule and perform appropriate preventative maintenance
Communicate weekly the status of repairs and budget
Perform routine functions of maintenance and repairs of golf course/project equipment; tractors, riding mowers and hand mowers
Have all mowing equipment operable and properly sharpened, as much as possible
Develop and maintain service records for all the equipment
Maintain the shop's working area in clean, organized fashion and observe working conditions in compliance with all appropriate safety and compliance laws
Work with Superintendent, Assistant Golf Course Superintendents and Golf Maintenance Crew in training and safety of equipment with the entire staff
Maintain appropriate inventory control

Key responsibilities, skills, aptitude, and knowledge:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all machinery and vehicles in the Golf Maintenance Department, ensuring all equipment is ready for use.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols for equipment repair and maintenance work.
Possess a basic understanding of maintenance and repair for various engine types and hydraulic systems used in golf course operations.
Maintain expertise in reel maintenance, achieving optimal cutting performance, and ensuring mowing equipment is sharp and fully operational.
Demonstrate a foundational knowledge of drivetrain and electrical system upkeep, as well as servicing hydraulic systems.
Safely operate all golf course maintenance machinery and provide training to staff on proper usage and safety precautions.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, troubleshooting issues, and diagnosing equipment problems.
Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve maintenance challenges.
Foster a self-motivated work ethic, promoting continuous learning and attention to detail in all aspects of equipment management.

Education and Experience:
4-7+ years of experience as an Equipment Manager
Leadership and administrative experience
Ability to diagnose and repair 2-cycle, 4-cycle, and diesel engines
Certification in automotive repair, diesel engine, or similar fields (preferred but not required)
