Course Information:

Baltusrol Golf Club is a 36-hole facility located in Springfield, NJ. The club was founded in 1895 and has restored its 2, Top-100 A.W Tillinghast golf courses the Lower and Upper Course. Baltusrol is well known for providing and exceeding membership expectations for tournament conditions daily. Baltusrol has hosted 16 USGA National Championships, the 2005 and 2016 PGA Championship, the 2023 Women’s KPMG Championship and is slated to host the 2029 PGA Championship. Baltusrol restored the Lower Course in 2020 and the Upper Course in 2024 (which is set to open back up early 2025). This is a unique opportunity to complete the restoration of the Upper Course with USGA greens, Precision Aire units, new irrigation system, drainage, bunkers, and tee complexes installed last season.

Position Expectations:

The Baltusrol Golf Club grounds department is seeking hardworking, self-motivated individuals that are eager to advance their career in the golf course industry. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Director of Grounds, Superintendents and Assistants to facilitate and execute all operations necessary to maintain 2, Top-100 golf courses. The Assistant Superintendent will assist in but not limited to; course setup, intensive water management of playing surfaces, monitoring and applying chemical applications, small-scale projects and all other agronomic practices necessary to maintain championship conditions.

Educational Requirements:

2-year certificate or a 4-year degree in Turfgrass or Agronomy

Experience Requirements:

Entry level position, 1-2 years of experience as an intern. Must be highly motivated and a team player.
