Pottawattomie Country Club is a classic parkland style private club located an hour east of Chicago.
The course features 3 acres of bentgrass greens , 2 acres of tees, 20 acres of fairways, and 46 bunkers. Our Poa control program has been very effective and we manage a significantly lower percentage of Poa than other courses in our region of similar age.
Our agronomic program has been extremely successful over the past 5 years. The improved conditions have increased membership, increased our available budget, and increased our capital funding. In recent years the club has invested in new equipment from Toro, Smithco, Jacobsen, Turfco, and E-Z Go, as well implemented numerous on-course improvements including a complete bunker sand replacement, new tee constructions, driving range tee expansion, chipping green and practice bunker construction, as well as numerous tree removals, extensive pruning, and drainage improvements. We are working with an architect to implement a Master Plan to guide our future improvements.
In this position, you will gain the ability and confidence to manage and make decisions on your own. You will have autonomy in your day to day activities.
2/4 year degree or certificate in Turfgrass/Sports Turf Management or a related field.
