Argyle Country Club is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for either a recent graduate or more seasoned Assistant to gain experience with Iron Cutter bermudagrass fairways and poa/bent pushup greens in the Mid-Atlantic and be heavily involved in golf course improvements.
The Club is nearing completion of a multi-phase Master Plan, culminating in completing the final bunkers in Spring 2025. Over the past four years, Argyle has made significant investments in the golf course, highlighted by a new Toro irrigation system, fairway re-grassing, full-course bunker renovation, and new equipment.
The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Director and will be involved in all aspects of the Greens & Grounds operation including daily golf course maintenance, water management, pesticide and fertilizer applications, clubhouse grounds maintenance, budgeting, and project management.
Qualified candidates including those currently in turf school that expect to graduate in Spring 2025 are encouraged to apply.

Founded in Washington D.C. in 1921, Argyle moved to its current location in Silver Spring, MD in 1945. The course was designed by Perc LeDuc and recently renovated by architect Joel Weiman. Argyle is known for having some of the area’s top golfers who consistently compete in state and national amateur championships including PGA Tour Member Denny McCarthy who grew up at the Club, and 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur Champion Bryan Kim. Argyle regularly hosts USGA qualifying and MSGA events including the Maryland State Amateur Championship in 2022 and will host the 2026 Maryland Open.
