This position is a learning and development role with upside to grow into a managerial role through continued education and progressive responsibilities.
Position reports to the Director of Golf Course Operations; Superintendents; Assistant Superintendent

Green Dept. Schedule: 40-55 hours per week in season (March through November), 35-40 hours during off season.

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION:
Apply pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers as directed to maintain excellent condition of grounds and golf course; document and post online all applications.
Compile reports of pesticide, herbicide and fertilizer use on the golf course and calculate use rates for all products applied on the property.
Maintain proper inventory of products.
Works alongside management team and diverse team members to care for the golf course.
KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, APTITUDE AND OTHER TRAITS:
Complete knowledge of chemical application equipment
Knowledge in the safe mechanical operation and calibration of the following types of equipment:
Mechanically pressurized spray equipment; hand-operated spray equipment; hand-operated rotary spreaders; hand-operated drop spreaders; and utility tractors.
Knowledge of the rules of golf and/or ability to play golf is desirable.
Work closely with Superintendents in daily operations and executing Turfgrass Management
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
25.00 + per hour DOE

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field
1 - 3 seasons working on a golf course maintenance team
Conversational (Spanish) a plus.
Current NJDEP state certification or licensing as a pesticide and fertilizer applicator.
Valid driver’s license.
Capable of handling the physical demands and work environment outside in various weather conditions.
