North Shore Preserve located in Princeville, Hawaii on the north shore of Kauai is seeking a skilled and dedicated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join their golf course maintenance team. North Shore Preserve is a Discovery Land Company managed property. 

This position will support and report to the Director of Agronomy and Golf Course Superintendent in overseeing the maintenance and conditioning of our premier golf course, contributing to the highest standards of playability and aesthetics. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf management, irrigation, equipment management, and crew supervision. 

Club highlights:

• Newly build/renovated golf course
• Total staff - 30, including part and full time employees
• Typical work schedule: 50-60 hours per week. Daily Schedule: 6:00 a.m. start, typically ending around 4:00 p.m.  Rotating weekend Coverage.
• Turf types: TifEagle greens, Bermudagrass tees, fwys, roughs
• Irrigation system - Rainbird
• Equipment - Brand new toro equipment in 2023/2024

Qualifications
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of turfgrass species, irrigation systems, and golf course agronomy practices.
• Valid driver's license and pesticide applicator's license (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
Additional Requirements
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
