Job Summary
Wasatch Peaks Ranch is a private golf and ski community being developed in northern Utah. This exclusive development encompasses over 12,000 breathtaking acres, including 3,000 acres of private ski terrain and an 18-hole Tom Fazio designed championship golf course. Golf course construction was completed late summer 2024, with a limited golf course opening in the fall. 2025 will be the inaugural season for daily operation.
As 2nd AGCS, you will play an integral part of this next chapter as we continue to refine our world class conditioning. As a part of this team, you will work closely with the Assistant superintendents and golf course superintendent to learn/refine skills relating to irrigation scheduling and troubleshooting, pesticide and fertility applications, crew scheduling and leadership, and construction projects to name a few. Additionally, as one of the only clubs in Utah currently operating an autonomous mower, you will be the primary member for oversight of our GPS/autonomy mowing and spraying program.
Essential Job Duties (Summer Season):
The 2nd AGCS, under the direction of the Assistant Superintendents and Golf Course. Superintendent, supports and participates in the daily maintenance of the golf course and grounds.
Supports the scheduling and oversight of maintenance and construction field tasks.
Instructs equipment operators and greenskeepers on the proper operation and care of all maintenance equipment, ensuring all equipment is cleaned and stored properly and maintenance facility is kept clean and organized.
Assists in evaluating general turf conditions and provides insight into operating irrigation central control system and setting daily watering schedule.
Performs moisture management and hand watering as needed, and advises direct managers of moisture needs.
Troubleshoots irrigation problems and participates with repairs as needed.
Performs pesticide and fertilizer applications, including proper calibrations of application equipment and record keeping.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Duties (Winter Season):
Participates in snow removal for designated areas on roadways, facilities, parking lots, and homes.
Performs minor building maintenance, repair, and upkeep (painting, organizing, cleaning).
Discuss and plan maintenance schedules, tasks, and protocols for the upcoming season with the Golf Course Superintendent and assistant superintendents.
Basic Qualifications:
Able to work over 40 hours a week during peak times throughout the season.
Ability to work any day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Valid U.S. drivers license.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Minimum of 3 years working on a golf course with increasing responsibilities.
Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, greens, roughs, bunkers, and natural areas.
Ability to obtain state pesticide applicator license within 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications:
Requires a 2 or 4-year degree or certificate in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or related field.
Requires knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the management of golf course.
Proven track record of desire to become a golf course superintendent.
Desire to learn, lead, and leave an impact on a positive culture and environment.

Wasatch Peaks Ranch is developing and building a new private mountain resort community located in the Wasatch Mountains 30 minutes north of Salt Lake City.
