Dedham Country and Polo Club is seeking to hire a 2nd Assistant/Spray Tech. to join the existing grounds management staff. The successful candidate will work alongside the Superintendent and the existing Assistant Superintendents to manage all facets of the operation, and possess the desire to grow within the organization to ultimately fulfill their goal of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent.
DCPC boasts a rich history in golf as well as its polo, shooting, racquets, hockey and aquatics programs, which are all well used by the membership.
In 2017 a major restoration of the Seth Raynor designed course was executed, including rebuilding of all greens to USGA spec., renovation of all bunkers, and an entirely new pumpstation, and Toro irrigation system. The 2024 golf season has showcased extensive drainage and tree work which is performed annually in the off season, as well as renovations to our maintenance facility, chemical storage building, driving range tee and short game facility.
Looking forward, the club will continue to strive for daily championship course conditioning, and generously invest in the golf course and Greens and Grounds department. Construction of a new paddle tennis clubhouse, pickle courts, as well as extensive renovations to the clubhouse and surrounding grounds are ongoing through 2024. During this process, the entire grounds management staff plays a vital role in managing the impact of these projects, as well as implementing irrigation, turf, and ornamental plantings through the duration of the project.
-Have or are working on acquiring a degree or certificate in turfgrass management or a related field
-3-5 years or golf course experience, including chemical/fertilizer applications and supervisory roles preferred
-The ability to obtain a MA pesticide applicators license within 90 days of onboarding (paid for by the club)
