The Golf Club of Avon is looking for a high energy candidate to assist in the day-to-day leadership of the golf course maintenance team. Nestled in the Farmington Valley, the Golf Club of Avon is a private club providing its members with a full range of family-oriented recreational and social activities.
Under the leadership of the Superintendent, the Senior Assistant Superintendent will help direct and participate in all aspects of the property maintenance at GCA. Including, but not limited to: golf course setup, chemical/fertilizer applications, job delegation, moisture management, irrigation troubleshooting/repair, tree removal, drainage installation, many in-house projects/renovations, snow removal/plowing, and supervision of outside contractors.
GCA has nearly 250 acres of total property that require a high level of attention to detail to provide an exceptional golf course and campus. The Senior Assistant Superintendent is expected to be a positive leader with a friendly demeanor who can work well with others and interact well with members and their guests. The successful candidate will enjoy a healthy work/life balance with the understanding that more hours are necessary during peak season, hot/dry conditions, aeration, and marquee member/guest golf events.
