Gleneagles Country Club is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join the Agronomy team. Gleneagles Country Club consists of 2–18-hole championship caliber golf courses, the Kings Course and the Queens Course. The Kings course has undergone an entire golf course renovation within the past 2 years and the Queens course just opened after a complete greens renovation. This renovation consisted of coring out all greens, installing SubAir drainage with above ground standalone units, installed 19 new fans, and seeded with 007XL Bentgrass. Both renovations were very successful, and the property is showing this. This position will work hand in hand with the Queens Superintendent, the Kings Superintendent, and the Director of Agronomy. This position will be a hands-on managerial position with the goal of promotion within the club or within the company. This position will be a good steppingstone for any applicant wanting to further their career in the Turf industry. Assistant Superintendent Position Details:
Assist Golf Course Superintendent in providing agronomic direction for the healthy growth of the clubhouse and golf course grounds. As directed, supervise the crew, and assist with job scheduling and responsibilities. Supervise the application and recording of chemical applications on the golf course and club grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
2 year degree, preferably in Agronomy/Horticulture. Minimum 1 year golf course experience. Pesticide applicators license or the ability to obtain a license within the first 6 months of employment. Willingness and Punctuality awareness. Ability to work well with others and lead a team to the common goal of providing the best product for our members daily.
