The Golf course superintendent is entrusted with the maintenance, operations and management of a golf course. The Superintendent will carefully manage the maintenance inputs to the golf course.
Duties:
Manage and track employee productivity, prioritize tasks, delegate duties and follow through to detailed completion
Properly operate and calibrate spray equipment and spreaders
Prepare annual budgets for the maintenance and capital improvement of course properties.
Manage Clubhouse grounds and landscaping
The superintendent is responsible for inventory control and oversees the equipment maintenance programs.
Interviews, hires, trains and supervises a staff of employees for the purpose of maintaining the property.
Repair and have working knowledge of the golf course irrigation system
Manage daily course set up, equipment operation, and chemical and fertilizer applications
Superintendent will work closely with General Manager, Head Golf Pro & Owner to manage daily operations
Education: 2 or 4 year turf degree or related field is preferred, but not required. Willing to look past the education requirement for the right individual that has valuable experience. Must have a Texas Pesticide Application License or the ability to obtain one in 90 days
Experience: Minimum of 5 years golf course maintenance experience. Prior management experience is required. Must have a basic understanding of normal agronomic and golf course maintenance practices
Special Skills: Detailed oriented, motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
Must have advanced knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices; a working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods; and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf.
Must have Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course operations (including, but not limited to, employment, safety and environmental standards, laws and regulations).
