Staff: 8 full time employees, 20 part time employees
Maintenance Budget: $1.5 M
Annual Rounds: 22,000
Typical work schedule: 55 hours in season, 40 hours off season. No offseason snow removal past 3:00 pm December-March
Grass types: Converting to 007 XI greens, tee and approaches, Meyer Zoysia grass fairways, Fine Fescue native areas, Turf Type Tall Fescue Rough
Equipment: Primarily Baroness - leased and purchased
Irrigation system: 2025 instillation of Rainbird IC System
Future projects: Comprehensive restoration of the golf course in July of 2025 touching all areas of the property

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND APTITUDE:
The Grounds Department’s mission is to provide the highest quality of conditioning on a daily basis for the members and guests. The Assistant Grounds Superintendent plays an integral leadership role in collaboration, critical thinking and decision making in all facets of the operation including but not limited to:
Team leadership and operations management of 20 staff members
Knowledge of cloud-based collaboration (Google Drive and other industry applications)
Budget and agronomic program development
Attendance of committee, GCA meetings
Mentoring/Coaching of turfgrass interns and Assistant-in-Training
Data collection and interpretation to make informed decisions
Pesticide and fertilizer applications
Moisture management and irrigation troubleshooting
Development of partner and industry relationships

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of 2 or 4-year turfgrass program
4-7 years of experience
Able to obtain Ohio Pesticide License
Spanish Speaking a plus but not required

Originally founded in 1909, Hyde Park is consistently recognized as a club of excellence, providing a traditional country club atmosphere with exceptional hospitality and modern amenities, including an outstanding Donald Ross 18-Hole golf course.
