BHCC continually looks to improve the golf course, recently having reconstructed all the bunkers as part of a continuing Master Plan. BHCC has a bright future with its current project of creating driving range on property, demolishion and rebuild of the maintanence facility in the fall of 2024, preparations for a short game facility in 2025, and entire irrigation system renovation in 2026.
The Assistant Superintendent will have the opportunity to work in a team environment alongside the Golf Course Superintendent and other assistant. The applicant will have input in the daily operation of the golf course and as well as the planning and execution of long term projects. This allows a unique experience in being apart of a maintenance facility reconstruction, building a chipping facility, and installing a new irrigation system. The assistant will also get valuable experience working with new techonlogies like GPS Sprayers, Toro Lynx, TaskTracker, and many more.
Assistant must have earned a 2-4 year degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or a related field. The position requires at least 1 year of golf course experience. We are looking for individuals who work well in a team environment, a basic comprehension of computer skills, have a passion for turfgrass/golf, and individuals who are motivated to improve themselves and the golf course daily.
The assistant superintendent will work with the Golf Course Superintendent and other assistant in all aspects of golf course maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: crew management, irrigation, project work, fertilizer & pesticide applications, record keeping, scouting and water management.
