Bridgeport Country Club is a nine-hole, member owned, public play course located on the outskirts of Bridgeport along the banks of the West Fork Trinity River. The Greenkeeper is a permanent full-time employee with full responsibility for maintaining and preparing the course for members and visitors. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious greenkeeper to enhance and develop the facility and their skills.

Job Description:

• Ability to maintain a 9-hole Golf Course in maximum playing condition. This is a hands on job. Including but not limited to daily mowing and irrigation of the course.
• Apply all fertilizing and chemical applications at direction of Board of Directors.
• Must have knowledge of irrigation systems inclusive of programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, scheduling, moisture control, and pump station management.
• Use proper irrigation techniques and amounts.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot agronomic problems that may occur on the course and have a very good understanding of dwarf and regular Bermuda turfgrass as well as invasive weeds, funguses, insects or any other factor that might impact effective turf growth in Texas.
• Must have a considerable understanding of golf course maintenance equipment.
• Hire and supervise assistant and seasonal staff.
• Maintain positive relationships with the members and guests.
• Assist the Board of Directors and golfers with questions and suggestions regarding course conditions or recommendations for change.
• Ability to come to work regularly and on time, follow directions, take criticism, get along with co-workers and supervisors.
• Will be required to acquire and maintain Texas Pesticide License.

• Have 2-5 years experience at a golf course.
• Will be expected to operate/execute tasks including triplex mowing, tractor driving, top-dressing, tining and watering, etc
• Be able to carry out minor machinery maintenance
• A degree in agronomy or turf management will be an advantage but is not essential
