Colonial Country Club is an 18-hole facility located in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas. Founded by Mr. Marvin Leonard in 1936, to bring bentgrass greens to the South, and designed by John Bredemus and Perry Maxwell. Colonial Country Club hosted the 1941 US Open and is host to the longest running annual PGA Tour event at a single site, currently known as the Charles Schwab Challenge. The golf course recently underwent a major renovation by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner and is currently undergoing renovations to its clubhouse, maintenance, tennis and practice facilities.
Colonial Country Club is currently looking to fill a Second Assistant Superintendent position for 2024. We are seeking individuals with a strong work ethic, a “team first” mentality, and desire to advance their careers in the industry. Individuals will interact with the Director of Agronomy, Superintendent, Senior Assistant and staff to develop knowledge and skills necessary to lead a team and produce championship conditions. There is a strong potential to advance within management team. Individuals will have the opportunity to experience maintenance of newly renovated golf course along with construction of a new maintenance facility and practice facility. Individuals will also gain experience in:
PGA Tour tournament
Water management
Bermudagrass agronomic and cultural practices
Maintaining 007XL bentgrass greens in the transition zone
Operation and maintenance of new HDPE, Rainbird 2-wire irrigation system
Operation and maintenance of hydronics system
Volunteer opportunities at USGA, PGA Tour and PGA of America tournaments across the country

Experience Requirements- Previous golf course experience required with desire to achieve a degree or certificate in a turf related field
