Maroon Creek Club, located at the base of Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado, is seeking a highly motivated individual ready to elevate their career in the golf course industry. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will report to the Director of Agronomy and Golf Course Superintendent and play a vital role in maintaining our top-tier course.
Key Responsibilities:
Pesticide Application: Proper application of pesticides using GPS-enabled sprayers.
Inventory Management: Oversee pesticide ordering and inventory.
Irrigation: Manage and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper functionality and efficiency.
Moisture Management: Oversee moisture management specifically for T1 bentgrass greens and tees, and Kentucky bluegrass fairways, ensuring optimal turf health.
Staff Management: Assist the Superintendent in leading and managing a multicultural staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Desired Qualifications and Traits:
Experience: Minimum of two years of golf course maintenance experience or currently enrolled in a Turfgrass Management program.
Education: A two-year or four-year degree in Turfgrass Management is preferred but not mandatory. We will assist with education, including online schooling options, to help you advance in your career.
Career-driven: Passionate about golf course management with a strong desire to advance in the industry.
Licensing: Ability to obtain a Colorado pesticide license within 90 days.
Self-motivated: Proactive, eager to learn, and capable of educating others.
Work Ethic: Willingness to work long hours and versatility in all aspects of course maintenance.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous in approach, ensuring high standards are consistently met.
Positive Attitude: Maintains a positive and constructive attitude in the workplace.
Language Skills: Spanish speaking is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience (DOE $75,000-$85,000).

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
Capacity to lift 50 pounds.

Willingness to bend and kneel for up to 5 hours.
Capability to operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time.
Future Projects:
The club will undertake a complete tee renovation project starting in the fall of 2025, expected to be completed by spring 2027.
