Crimson Reserve is the home of the Men's and Women's Golf programs at the University of Alabama. Currently under construction, the 9-hole golf course and large state-of-the-art practice facility are scheduled to open in fall of 2024.
The 2nd Assistant superintendent will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Primary duties will be the supervision of the clubhouse grounds and practice facility. This will include scheduling, supervision as well as fertilizer and chemical applications. The practice facility is 14 acres of turf comprised mostly of Tahoma-31 bermudagrass and 3 TifEagle greens totaling 1 acre. The body of the range has numerous targets that can be used from all areas of the practice area.
The 25,000 sq ft clubhouse includes 6 hitting bays, separate lounges for the men's, women's and donor partners and offices for the team coaches. The rear of the clubhouse opens up to the practice facility while the front faces the 1/2 mile entry road. There is extensive landscaping around the building and all along the road.
Prior golf course experience and working knowledge of the game of golf are preferred. Must be able to work with the team to provide championship level conditions at all times.
The proposed Golf Training Facility for the University of Alabama Women’s and Men’s programs will be one of the premier off-campus golf facilities in the country. Located on 176 acres south of Jack Warner Parkway, west of 25th Avenue NE and along each side of Kicker Road NE, its proximity to campus will make the facility conveniently accessible for the student athletes and coaches.
The Project will include four buildings: the Golf House and Cart Barn at the Golf Practice Facility, and Comfort Station on the 9- Hole Golf Course, and a separate Golf Maintenance Facility. The exteriors of these structures will be in a Georgian Revival style that will include brick veneer, limestone, metal guardrails, and shingle roofs.
The proposed project will give the University one of the top golf facilities in the Southeastern Conference and among Division I schools across the nation. This will continue to allow the Women’s and Men’s golf programs to attract and retain top student athletes. Additionally, this project will help maintain the elite status of our facility and brand nationally. The agronomy department is managed by Troon.
