Camden Country Club was chartered in 1903. In 1922, Walter Travis was hired to use the existing golf course and adjacent land to create a new 18 hole golf course. In 1938, Donald Ross was hired to remodel the course and install grass greens. Today, the greens are mini verde bermuda and 419 bermuda throughout the rest of the property with a few Zoysia tees and plans to convert more tees to Zorro Zoysia.  Total maintained turf is 70 acres with another 10 acres of native/natural areas.  New irrigation system/pump station completed in 2022 and new cart path renovation to concrete completed in 2023.  Future plans consist of practice area renovation and bunker restoration/renovation.
