The Golf Course Equipment Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of all golf course maintenance equipment, as well as some assisting in construction equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, mowers, maintenance carts, tractors, excavators, dozers and golf course service vehicles. The Equipment Manager also develops and executes a comprehensive preventive maintenance and repair schedule for all equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects of golf course maintenance equipment.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components.
- Replace worn or damaged parts.
- Rebuild engines and other mechanical components.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, such as changing oil, filters, and fluids.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Order and inventory parts and supplies.
- Train and assist other maintenance staff members.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Oversee the work of mechanics and other maintenance staff.
- Develop and implement new maintenance and repair procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest equipment and maintenance technologies.
- Represent the golf course at trade shows and industry events.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree in automotive or mechanical repair preferred.
- 5+ years of experience working as a mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
