The Club’s future is strong as it continues to invest with a $2 million cart path renovation and a $20 million Clubhouse renovation. About the Golf Course: The course is known as one of the most challenging in the Mid-South while providing the novice players the opportunity to hone their skills. Some information on the course: - Primary turfgrass on greens is “Champions” ultra-dwarf bermudagrass with the remaining playing turf areas being 419 bermudagrass.
- Course renovation in 2015-2018 rebuilding all bunkers, several tee complexes, drainage installation, re-establishment of water diversion channels, practice area redesign, removal of over 1500 trees and the installation of a HDPE irrigation system using Toro Lynx at the control system.
- The club is at the start of a $2 million, 8.5-mile cart-path renovation. Process of milling down old path, relocating some path that interferes with key defense strategies of holes and removal of non-vital path.
- Club is home to the new PGA TOUR Champions event, Simmons Bank Championship. The second leg of the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs, hosting the top 54 players in the standings. The inaugural date is October 21-27, 2024.

Position Responsibility: Working closely with Golf Course Superintendent plans and implements the daily activities on the golf course and property. Responsible for the direct supervision of staff duties of the Assistant, Spray and Irrigation Technicians and Groundskeepers. Works in coordination with the mechanic ensuring the resources are available for the grounds and turf maintenance center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversees schedule of daily maintenance practices for property utilizing the equipment, materials and staff, adjusts if needed or reassigns after initial ones are completed.
- Checks on staff member assignments to ensure productivity and proper completion of task.
- Assists in the hiring, training, supervision, evaluation and discipline of staff.
- Ensures record keeping of daily maintenance practices.
- Manages the execution of fertilizer and pesticide programs.
- Ensure proper calibration of equipment used in applying fertilizers and pesticides.
- Obtains and holds appropriate pesticide license for golf course applicators.
- Reviews records of material applied to property to ensure accuracy.
- Oversees maintenance and repair of irrigation related equipment for proper function and performance.
- Communicates with mechanic staff of issues regarding equipment needing adjustment or service.
- Assists in supervision of staff operating equipment in safe manner.
- Communicates with golf shop on maintenance activities on course and how they affect play.
- Makes recommendations for irrigation adjustments to ensure playability and health of turf and grounds.
- Supervises and participates in on-course construction actives performed in-house ensuring goal of project is achieved.
- Assists in the supervision of outside contractors performing work on property.
- Assists in developing of annual budgets, making recommendations for adjustments of future resources available to maintain property to expected standard of playability and presentation.
- Supervises winter weather practices for course and grounds.
- Continues education through seminars and written periodicals.
- Orders materials for department permitted by superintendent.
- Performs documentation of monthly invoices to be submitted to accounting.
- Provides assistance to other departments when needed, such as pool cover and member events.
- In absence of Golf Course Superintendent responsible for all aspects of Golf Maintenance.
- Performs other duties requested by Golf Course Superintendent.
