Assistant Superintendent

The Everglades Club is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to assist in the management of our 18-hole Seth Raynor design. We are renovating the golf course in the summer of 2025. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the maintenance of the golf course and activities of the employees. This includes monitoring job performance and daily playing conditions for quality standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the maintenance facility (to include equipment, materials, and tools), participating in agronomic operations, and keeping accurate and timely records of all business activities.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the planning and supervision of routine maintenance activities to include tasks such as mowing greens, changing cups, course set up, raking bunker, mowing fairways, tees and rough.
• Plan and participate in the applications of fertilizers and plant protectants.
• Participate in the daily assignment of equipment to employees and inspect for proper use, cleaning, and storage to assigned parking.
• Coordinate with mechanics to ensure preventative maintenance, repairs, and readiness of equipment fleet.
• Participate in the daily monitoring of putting greens using POGO.
• Observe and evaluate playing conditions (moisture, mowing quality, bunker raking, course set up) to take corrective action or report to Superintendent.
• Maintain effective employee and public relations.
• Assist in the monitoring of adherence to the uniform policy and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Assist the Superintendent in keeping records of maintenance activities, including but not limited to job tracking, and fertilizer and plant protectant applications as required by law.
• Assist in the operation of the irrigation system by using Toro Lynx Control System and pump station operation, field observations and scouting for proper moisture, sprinkler adjustments and repairs.
• Assist in the operation of the reverse osmosis system.
• Follow and comply with company and departmental safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.
