Madden’s on Gull Lake is located just a few miles west of Brainerd MN and is seated on the south side of beautiful Gull Lake. It is home to 63 holes of golf which include Pine Beach East, Pine Beach West, and a Social Nine golf course as well as, world renowned, The Classic. Madden’s is an award-winning resort located on 1,000 acres, which provides an extremely unique opportunity to learn a variety of management styles on many different levels of golf.

Job Summary:

We are looking for one or more motivated individuals to work directly with our golf course maintenance staff to assist and learn how to implement sustainable maintenance practices and achieve high end turfgrass conditions. These individuals will have endless opportunities to learn turf and golf course management from our assistants and superintendent on all aspects of a multi-course facility which include but not limited to course set up, tournament set up, small crew projects and team leading, able to run a weekend crew, seasonal planning, irrigation repairs, irrigation programming and planning, chem/fert application and calibration, landscape projects, large equipment operation, and much more.

Our internship program will not only teach individuals how to maintain turfgrass on a day-to-day basis but will allow individuals to be involved in L10 (high level staff) meetings, chem/fert decisions, record keeping, scouting, long term planning, some budget discussions, and other data keeping achieving optimal golf course conditions for guests. Overall, we will introduce all aspects of golf course management from the driver seat of a Golf Course Superintendent and prepare you for this industry!
