Assistant In Training

Troubadour Golf and Field Club is seeking a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the desire to learn. The Assistant-in-Training will work closely with the Agronomy Team. He/She must be willing to perform many different tasks, including course setup, moisture management, chemical and fertilizer application, irrigation repair, and equipment operation. This position requires attention to detail, leadership, and teamwork in a fast-paced work environment. He/She will also be in charge of managing small groups during certain projects throughout the year. The AIT position is intended to be a full-time year round position but is also open to anyone currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year program. The opportunity is available for advancement and this position is intended to encourage development.

Responsibilities:

• Moisture Management on all Maintained turf (Greens, Tees, Fairways, Etc.)
• Chemical and Fertilizer Applications
• Assist in Golf Course Setup
• Irrigation Scheduling and Repair on a Toro Irrigation System
• Equipment Operation
• Gain experience in Integrated Pest Management

Requirements:

• Experience preferred but not required
• Enrollment or Completion of Turf Related Certification or Degree
• Willing to Work as a Team in an Organized and Fast-paced Environment
