About Tres Rios Golf Club
Located in the foothills of the Estrella Mountains, Tres Rios is a Red Lawrence designed and links-style golf course which opened in the mid 1960’s as one of the first desert courses in the area.
Originally Sierra Estrella, Tres Rios is part of the Estrella Mountain Regional Park, and therefore a municipal course. While having some challenging years in its past, the course is in the process of its revival. Since 2021, the Foundation has put in roughly $2M to improve the Toro irrigation system, completely renovate the greens with mini-verde grass (summer 2022) and the renovation of all bunkers was also completed last year. Much more work to improve this middle-aged gem is in the plans for the coming years including: new tees, improved drainage, reduced water usage through irrigated turf reduction and removal of eucalyptus trees, new on-course amenities and regressing of fairways to name but a few. What a great time to be a part of this transformation…and we have barely mentioned building of our 2nd18-hole course and new clubhouse!

About Tres Rios GC
Junior National is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization with the mission of changing the lives of youth through golf. We presently operate Tres Rios GC in Goodyear through Southwest Golf Management, LLC (SWGM). We are presently working with the City of Goodyear, Maricopa County, the State and Federal agencies to expand our facility into a 36-hole complex by adding a new 18-hole golf course, new clubhouse and maintenance facility and increased junior programming. This is a multi-year project and to date we have put roughly $2M into the exiting course through rebuilding the greens with mini-verde grass, renovating all bunkers, improving the irrigation system and leveling and re-grassing several tees. This is but the tip of the iceberg in what we will do at the facility and are looking to add team members interested in being a part of this project and share our commitment to make the lives of youth, especially at-risk youth better through this wonderful game and vocation.
