The mechanic at Hyde Park Golf Club is responsible for the repair and maintenance of items within the maintenance department as well as providing support to the other areas of the course as needed (i.e., golf carts, etc.). Maintenance should be in adherence to the equipment owner’s manual specifications to maintain the proper working order and done so within established safety standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledgeable and capable of operating all equipment and machinery utilized by the turf department including tools and machinery needed to make related repairs or routine maintenance.
Proactive in implementing and logging preventative maintenance programs for all equipment in the turf department.
Capable of diagnosing and making repairs and/or maintenance of, but not limited to:
gas and diesel mowers
tools or equipment (i.e., blowers, weed eaters, chain saws, etc.
Knowledge of grinding and setting reels and bed-knives
Assists in the training of team members for proper use of equipment & machinery.
Bring awareness to any methods or procedures identified to minimize operating costs and maximize resources to insure the proper working order and longevity of each piece of equipment.
Complete repairs timely and perform preventative maintenance to ensure machines run at optimal performance.
Communicate with the golf course superintendent regarding the status and condition of all equipment.
Make necessary changes or alterations to new or existing equipment as needed to insure proper working order.
Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies including fuel and oil levels.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Provide assistance on the course as needed to insure proper working order of all equipment.
Preferably 1-2 years of golf course mechanic/equipment manager experience.

Hyde Park Golf Club is an 18 hole, Donald Ross design, established in 1925 and located in beautiful Jacksonville, Florida. We are the oldest public course in Jacksonville and were once part of the Men’s and Women’s PGA Tours in the 1940’s and 50’s.
