The Assistant Superintendent’s primary duty is the direct supervision of duties of the golf course maintenance operation and staff under the leadership of the Golf Course Superintendent. This position will be called upon to perform management level work that allows other employees to perform their non-management duties.  The duties require the position to exercise independent judgment and use discretion over matters of significance on an ongoing basis and directly and indirectly supervise the whole maintenance department, maintaining communication with the Golf Course Superintendent. The relationship between the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent is one of shared leadership.
