| Vero Beach Country Club is looking for qualified applicants for our 2nd Assistant Superintendent/AIT position. VBCC is a private member owned club founded in 1924 located in Vero Beach Florida. We will be celebrating our centennial next year and this presents a great opportunity for the right individual to be a part of that historic event. VBCC is also the host site of the Grapefruit ProAM which is the oldest ProAm in the state of Florida. The 2nd Assistant/AIT will report directly to the Superintendent and be directly involved with building and executing the vision of the Golf Course Maintenance Department. This role will be a working position with some supervisory requirements. Representing yourself and the club in a professional manner at all times is a must. VBCC is comprised of Seashore Paspalum greens, tees, fairways, and roughs with some Bermuda throughout the course. We have some “deep rough” areas that are St. Augustine. We are believers of a quality work/life balance and the schedule will reflect that.

Duties include but are not limited to: Irrigation scheduling, troubleshooting, and repair Chemical and fertilizer application and documentation in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations Moisture management of greens Crew management and supervision Assisting in the building of agronomic programs Course Set-up Using all types of turf equipment to maintain the golf course Work environment: Regularly exposed to hot and humid conditions Moderate exposure to chemicals and fumes used in the workplace Ability to lift/move 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 pounds occasionally Must be able to squat, hunch, sit, stand, and use arms and hands constantly Qualifications: Associates of bachelors degree in turf management preferred 1-2 Seasons of golf maintenance experience preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply Florida pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain in the first 90 days Florida BMP certification or ability to obtain Toro irrigation experience Calibration of application equipment |
