Golf Course Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of grounds and equipment maintenance in line with the turf management program.
• Manage personnel, providing training, supervision, and evaluations.
• Supervise planting, fertilizing, and care of turf, plants, and facilities on the golf course.
• Record and track all maintenance activities.
• Develop and manage the department budget, taking corrective action as needed.
• Select and apply fertilizers and nutrients for flora and fauna.
• Maintain drainage, irrigation, and watering systems.
• Ensure the course is in optimal playing condition.
• Keep accurate work records for department personnel.
• Adhere to regulations for the use, storage, and disposal of chemicals and petroleum products.
• Prepare and update the grounds manual.
• Develop short- and long-range plans for the golf course.
• Oversee course construction and maintenance projects.
• Conduct daily security checks and maintain equipment inventory.
• Assist with snow removal planning and maintenance.
• Make recommendations for capital improvements and purchases.
• Supervise road and roadside maintenance within the club's grounds.
• Ensure proper landscaping for areas outside the golf course.
• Coordinate work with external contractors.
• Conduct regular course inspections and recommend improvements.
• Perform other assigned tasks from management or the general manager.
