Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Does the idea of a pension sound appealing? Pinon Hills Golf Course is looking for an assistant superintendent to join our team. 

Pinon Hills Golf Course, in Farmington New Mexico, is a nationally ranked municipal golf course in the Four Corners Region. In 2022 we completed a $5M golf course renovation, which included a new HDPE irrigation system with 2 wire Rainbird controls (Cirrus Pro). We have also purchased new equipment in 2021 and are receiving more new equipment this fall. With the renovations in the rear view mirror, the goal is for focus on agronomic practices that will enhance the playability of the course. Additionally the city operates a 9 hole par 3 golf course, Civitan, which will also be a part of the job duties.

The job environment will not be focused on "paying your dues", but rather upon being productive and using your time wisely. I will not force people to stick around to "babysit" a golf course. We will make sure before we leave everyday, that the moisture needs of the golf course are sufficient to get the course through the day. 

This is a great experience for someone to learn about growing cool season turf in  a high desert environment. The tools you need to flourish will be provided to you and you will be a valuable part of the team. The city has a strong commitment to this golf course and provides us with the resources necessary to succeed.
